Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band that was formed in 1984. Andreas Kisser joined the band in 1987 and has appeared on every release except for the band’s debut album, Morbid Visions. Andreas’ entrance to Sepultura was a pivotal turning point in the band’s history as the music made a stylistic shift from death metal to thrash metal.

Sepultura has an amazing history spanning over thirty years. There are two fantastic resources available that provide in-depth information about Sepultura’s deep history. The first source is Jason Korolenko’s book, Relentless: Thirty Years of Sepultura. Jason’s biography of the band provides complete coverage of the band’s rich history starting from the beginning. The second source is the 2017 film, Sepultura Endurance, which was directed by Otavio Juliano.
Sepultura Endurance covers the band’s entire history and provides viewers with commentary about Sepultura from heavy metal icons including artists such as Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor.
